Principals of management week 2

Econday Report

According to Econday it appears the economy has been above and below its average all year. As of 9/18/2026 the economy slightly growing but still below what it was back in May 2026. Managers must be able to identify how this rocky, unpredictable market will affect its services/ products, business partners, suppliers and customers to develop a business plan that can sustain an unpredictable economy. Managers must closely monitor the external environment and see how it affects the internal environment of their company and adapt if they want to succeed in a uncertain market.

Steve Jobs comments

Steve Jobs was an excellent visionary and ruthlessly dedicated to the success of Apple. He had more of a controlling, dictating management approach which is more old school but he was able to apply it to modern times using his charisma to motivate his employees to help him achieve things no one thought possible. Steve Jobs was a one of a kind manager and very few can replicate his management style with success but if managers can adapt modern management style and mix them with Steve Jobs visionary, autocratic approach they can still be successful depending on the type of organization that implements it. Steve Jobs was such great manager Apple still uses him as a hero in their work place culture and still implements his mindset in their business strategy. Apple is still the number 1 selling phone in the world years after Steve Jobs passed away showing how incredible his mind truly was.
